A Girl's Weekend - 12/19/06
It's been a long, long time since I've had a “girl's” weekend so it was
a way over due trip for me this past weekend. Casey Kessel, Victoria
Banks, and I did a show in Roswell, GA at The Swallow at the Hollow. We
left the boys behind and drove down together. I haven't had that much
fun in a long time and boy oh boy did we talk. On the way back I looked
up and we were in Murfreesboro and I didn't even remember driving
through Chatanooga.
Casey and Victoria are both such great girls and so easy to get to know. I feel like I've known them forever now. It's funny in this town how many times you can see someone, write with them, do shows with them and never really get to know them.
The show was awesome both nights. Of course, I have both of their CDs so I know all the words to just about all of their songs and can sing along. I'm such a fan. It's so awesome to sit on stage with two people that you really respect and look up to. I feel like I learned something from both of them this weekend. They are such inspiring writers. We are all so different that I think the crowd was constantly on it's toes especially Saturday night after we had spent so much time together. Our banter on stage was so much fun once we got to know each other better.
They both have CDs for sale on their MySpace pages so if you don't have one go buy one NOW...
Talk soon,
Rach
