Purchase The Album

New material and your favorites can be found on Pam Tillis's "Greatest Hits" album. One thing I have always thought a greatest hits album should not do is ignore is top five singles. Yet, you see it many times with many different artists hits albums. Two or three songs you know where big on the charts don't make it to the collection. Well, Pam's is no different. My question is why? A greatest hits album is supposed to show all of the artists best work and ignoring top five singles like "Deep Down" doesn't seem right. So we go from twelve tracks to fifteen to make the disc truly complete. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

"All The Good Ones Are Gone" is one of two new songs on the album, the second being what I consider a better song called "Land Of The Living". These songs will definitely end up appearing on Pam's second greatest hits album. Tillis has the ability to turn anything into a hit, her skills as a artist are that honed and these songs prove it.

Included on the disc are most of her hits ranging from "Maybe It Was Memphis" to "Spilled Perfume". These songs are just as powerful and moving as the first time they were played on the radio. Great music never dies.

Pam Tillis is one of country's leading ladies and when listening to this album there is no doubt why. While the music on this album is of the highest quality (that might be why it is a greatest hits disc) I can't rate it at five stars for the lack of three top five singles. If you like Pam or even if you don't know much about her, this is one disc that should be added to your collection.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
