Purchase The Album

The current queen of country music, Reba McEntire is back sporting a new look and a new album for 1996. The release is titled What If It's You and proves to be one of her best albums in years. Reba has obviously reached a turning point in her life and the music on this album reflects that.

The Fear Of Being Alone and How Was I To Know the two singles of the album prove to be amazing, fun and uplifting songs. While they are definitely not traditional Reba they show that she is having fun with her music and it relates into the listener having fun with it as well.

After listening to What If It's You many times I must say there doesn't seem to be a weakness in the entire album. There are Reba's trademark ballads like the title track and Just Looking For Him. Then she kicks it up with tunes like I'd Rather Ride Around With You and State Of Grace which has a addicting little sound effect in the first half of the song.

After her 20th anniversary album Starting Over which received only a half hearted welcome from radio and some fans it is nice to see Reba back to cutting tracks that can't be refused by anyone. She is back to all original material, you won't find a remake on the entire album. Even though I liked Starting Over, I will predict What If It's You will do much better just because of the fact it's original.

To be point blank, get this album! It is probably one of Reba McEntire's career best.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
