The innocent little girl image is gone and with that change in look comes a major musical shift for Ronna Reeves in her fourth album titled "After The Dance". Never before has Ronna show so much musical capability in an album. Always content to sing on one comfortable key and just get the songs recorded her previous albums have had a slightly dead feel. With a new producer and label pushing her talents to the limits Ronna has actually become a better artist.

Don't think that this album is without weaknesses though. Ronna still seems to have trouble finding the sound she wants in a song. You get the feeling she wants to try something new with the song midway. This is a small weakness but can make a impact on songs.

"Collect From Wichita" and "Rodeo Man" are the strongest songs on the album and its alittle ironic that they are so totally different from one another. "Collect From Wichita" is a amazing ballad while "Rodeo Man" is a light hearted warning to a sister about men in the rodeo.

Ronna definitely has the talent to go along ways. She just needs alittle more time to perfect her skills. It is to bad that fans of country music won't be hearing this progression. Reeves's next album is going to be pop. It should be interesting to see what happens with her career from here on out.

"After The Dance" is a album for the fan of mid-paced country music. You won't find many number ones but you will find a lady with a amazing voice singing her heart out.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
