Purchase The Album

Faith Hill has had a lot of time to prepare for her third album. After an almost three year long break Faith gives us her new twelve track offering. The downtime which included marriage, a baby girl, and another baby on the way has matured Hill. The material found on Faith is much more soulful than the songs on her previous efforts.

The album opens with the fun debut single "This Kiss." The catchy lyrics and tempo make it one of those songs you find yourself humming all day (you could consider that a bad thing, depending on if you like having a song stuck in your head all day or not). The follow up single, a new duet with husband Tim McGraw is a stronger effort than their enormously successful "It's Your Love."

A powerful version of Bekka & Billy's "Better Days," is one of the better songs on the album. The Gretchen Peter's penned "The Secret Of Life," reminds us all how much the simple things in life matter. "The Hard Way," is a country rocker dealing with the hardships and trials of this thing we call life. "Me," is one of those strong female oriented songs that Faith does so well. It tells the story of a woman who realizes she doesn't have to change who she is to find love. Faith's version of Celine Dion's "I Love You," is a much stronger vocal performance than the original.

If you've been waiting a long time for Faith to get a new album out, as many have, you won't be disappointed. Faith takes a slightly different approach than Hill's other two releases but if anything it's made her better.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
