Purchase The Album

Jo Dee Messina is back two years after the release of her debut album with a new release titled I'm Alright. She had a successful couple of singles before radio seemed to forget about her. Leaving the remaining singles on the album to fall fate to marginal success. Now with I'm Alright Jo Dee has already scored her two biggest hits and seems to be back on track to becoming a major star.

The song selection on this album is an example of Jo Dee's outgoing personality. Anyone who has met her knows what I'm talking about, she can't stop joking around. Songs like the number one hits "Bye, Bye" and "I'm Alright," are classic examples of Messina having fun with her music. The new single "Stand By Me," carries an important message but still is a lot of fun to listen to.

"No Time For Tears," has the potential to be another number one for Messina if she releases it as a single. The song reminds you of music that you might hear on an album from Tim McGraw, one of her producers. "Silver Thunderbird," is a distinct song that tells of a woman looking back on her father and his love for his car.

There are a few moments when Jo Dee slows the pace down and when she does the results are a couple of stunning ballads. "Even God Must Get The Blues," is one of the strongest slow songs I have heard in a long time. The powerful love song "Because You Love Me," is one of the albums best.

If Jo Dee Messina can continue to put together collections like this there isn't going to be anyone that can stop her. She's simply one of the best new artists in the industry.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
