The Lynns - The Lynns
Reprise Records
Purchase The Album
Regina Regina, The Kinleys, Blake and Brian, Bekka and Billy. It seems that country duos are everywhere all of a sudden. There use to be very little competition in the duo category, not any more. Now we have another duo presenting their debut offering. The Lynns (who just happen to be Loretta Lynns twins) give us an album distinctly different from the material released from other duos.
The album opens with "Crazy World Of Love," a warning about how easy it is to fall in love. "Woman To Woman," the newest single from the duo is one of the albums best tracks. Flawless harmonies and catchy instrumentals power this album along. "Someday," is a song about a woman determined to make a man love her. The song has hit written all over it.
The albums weakest point would be "It Hurts Me," a song that just never seems to build up any power. While it showcases The Lynns harmonies to perfection the song is just lacking. But the album rebounds quickly with the Carlene Carter styled "Cry, Cry Baby"
The Lynns have a promising future ahead of them. If they can continue to turn out material like the stuff found here, they could be the ones to knock Brooks and Dunn from their throne.

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection. This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level. This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there. A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy. This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark. |
