Purchase The Album
Swarms of new artists have been hitting the market the last few years. With all this new material it can be difficult to separate the good material from the below average. Well, I'll make this one simple for you. Melodie Crittenden's album is one to put in the "outstanding" category.
The album opens with a fun country rocker "I've Been Waiting For You," a song that Faith Hill had on hold for her upcoming album. The song makes a logical second single and has hit written all over it. The dark message of "Birmingham," is delivered smoothly with Crittenden's smoky soprano. Just as quickly the album goes light-hearted with "This Thing Called Livin'," The variety of music and quality of the songs is impressive.
The albums best track could be "I Should've Known," an up-paced number about a faithful love. The debut single, a deeply emotional ballad slows the album down for a short time. Melodie likes to keep it fast. You will find four slow songs on the ten track album. Her ballads carry deep felt emotion as easily as she sings her fun uplifting numbers.
Melodie Crittenden is here and she won't be denied. With a debut album like this, people are bound to take notice. This is a must have.

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection. This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level. This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there. A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy. This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark. |
