Pam Tillis launched her Greatest Hits album last year and enjoyed one of her most successful singles to date with the emotional "All The Good Ones Are Gone." Now she has returned with the first album in a new chapter of her career. Pam's vocal styling has remained the same, but the album proves to be a change of pace, favoring up-paced fun songs of her trademark ballads.

The debut single "I Said A Prayer," was one of the catchiest songs of the year with its heavy guitar riffs and unique vocal arrangements. "You Put The Lonely On Me," is another one of the albums best sporting amusing lyrics and a light hearted vocal delivery. The opening accoustic guitar for "Not Me," is suprisingly similar to Melodie Crittenden's "This Thing Called Livin'," and just as addictive. "We Must Be Thinking Alike," has definate number one potential should it be released as a single. You also can't count out the stunning ballad "Every Time," (her current single).

The album isn't without weakness though. With "Hurt Myself," comes across as a run of the mill ballad. It just doesn't have anything that makes it stand out. The bluegrass flavored "After Hours," also comes up short of being the high quality music we have come to expect from Tillis.

Overall, things look promising for Pam. She has put together another strong release with only a few slip ups. But hey, no one's perfect. This one can be a lot of fun.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
