Sara Evans - Three Chords And The Truth
RCA Records
Purchase The Album
Do you like classic country? Do you dig around through your albums just to find your favorite Patsy Cline record? Well, now there is an artist recording material that captures the essence of country music in the way few others have. Her name is Sara Evans and when you put her debut album in your CD player, it's time for a flashback.
Wailing steel guitars, powerful lyrics and everything else country can be found here. Sara Evans isn't another Shania Twain wannabe, she is pure country. With the mainstream sound all over the place it is nice to find an album that reminds us of how it use to be.
Sara's vocal style is frightening similar to Patsy Cline's. With a raw, powerful approach songs like "Shame About That," and "Unopened," come to life. A flawless remake of the Buck Owens classic "I've Got A Tiger By The Tail," is one of the albums best. The heavy instrumental on "Even Now," will have you reaching for the repeat button.
This album is not one you want to pass up. Sara Evan's vocal styling, and distinct sound make this a truly enjoyable listen. When the final seconds come off the album, you will be begging for more.

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection. This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level. This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there. A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy. This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark. |
