Suzy Bogguss has without a doubt of the most effortlessly powerful voices in the industry. Over the past few years she has pretty much been given the shaft by country radio. What a shame considering her Give Me Some Wheels is arguably the best effort of her career. But Suzy isn't letting the lack of radio support keep her down. She's back with a new eleven track collection. I was doubtful she would be able to top Give Me Some Wheels. I was wrong.

Nobody Love, Nobody Gets Hurt brings together a nice mix of music. You'll find your rocking country tunes like the debut single "Somebody To Love," and you'll also find the heartfelt ballads Suzy delivers so well. The title track is a classic example.

Garth Brooks takes a moment to lend his vocals to "Take Me Back," one of the most addictive songs on the album. Suzy is also the first artist to cover a Kim Richey song and make it her own, instead of a photocopy of the original version with her new single "From Where I Stand."

The unique instrumental of "I Wish Hearts Would Break," makes it a stand out. In fact I would be suprised if this one doesn't make it to single status. The tender "Moonlight And Roses," shows Bogguss pleading her to boyfriend not to let their love slip away for no reason. Classic Suzy.

In all honesty there isn't a bad track on this one. Suzy has pulled together a collection of songs like few others. This is one of the best releases of the year. My suggestion would be to buy it now, or at the very least try and get someone to put it in your stocking for Christmas.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
