Purchase The Album

In 1997 there was an incredible crazy for female duos. While it seemed like the trend might result in some great music and some major stars, not one of those duos has released an album since. Now Redmon & Vale has entered the country music scene. Do they have what it takes to succeed where others have failed? They have my vote.

There is something different about this duo. It might be their deeper vocal style, it might be their song selection or it might be their distinct attitude. More likely it's a combination of all three. The end result is a satisfying debut record.

Redmon & Vale's sassy attitude is apparent on the albums singles. "If I Had A Nickel (One Thin Dime)" is a classic tell off song. The poor guy they're singing to in this song definitely has no doubt that he's worth nothing to them. "Squeezin' The Love Outta You" is easily one of the best tracks on the album. It's upbeat tempo and driving lyrics make it a blast to listen to over and over again. It's amazing the song hasn't done better. "Kisses Don't Lie" and "I Wanna Know" are also great, quicker paced songs that should do very well on country radio.

There are very few slow songs on this album but the biggest standout is one of them. "Both Sides Of Goodbye" is an absolutely breathtaking ballad about the troubles of saying goodbye. It's quickly become one of my favorite songs.

A few of the songs are a little lacking like "Pretty Pink House" but on the most part the song selection is very strong and the occasional slip-up isn't enough to seriously damage the listening experience.

It's a shame that country radio hasn't been playing these girls more than they have. They're easily the best of the female duos. There is something about each of their songs that draws you in and keeps you attentive until the last note has played. That's a rarity in a genre that has been filled with such stale material as of late. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this album. You'll thank me later.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
