When the last notes from Terri Clark's newest release Fearless came rolling off my speakers there wasn't any doubt in my mind that I had just heard one of the best albums of 2000.

The album opens with the title track and newest single "No Fear", Terri's vocals soar on the tune and it's still my favorite tune on the entire disc. "Sometimes Goodbye" sports a powerful message about the importance of letting go. The stunning balled "Empty" is worth more than a few plays. This song would never get any airplay but it's a gem.

The debut hit single "A Little Gasoline" is classic upbeat Terri Clark music. "Getting There" is another song in the same vein and could easily be just as big of a hit. When you listen to "Last Thing I Wanted" there is no doubt it's a Kim Richey tune. Terri is one of the few artists that can pull of Richey's music as well as the artist herself. "To Tell You Everything" would be another wise single selection.

Terri Clark has delivered a gutsy album. It's one that might not get a whole lot of commercial airplay. In fact at times she flirts with Americana. But it is one of the best albums coming that has come out of Nashville in quite awhile. Pick up a copy, you won't be sorry that you did.

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection. This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level. This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there. A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy. This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
