Purchase The Album

It’s easy to see where people might make the mistake of writing Jolie Holliday off as just another one in the endless stream of young new artists. At first glance she falls right into the group of artists who record instantly forgettable pop records and market them as country releases. People who think that would be greatly mistaken. She might be another young, pretty blonde singer but when you put on her debut album “A Real Good Day” it becomes apparent that this one is the real deal and has the potential to become a star one day.

The current single “All The Good Ones Are Gone” is one of the albums best tracks (and not it’s not a cover of the Pam Tillis song of the same name). It’s an upbeat cheerful song about being completely happy with the person you’re with and knowing that for you there isn’t any better. “Hungry Side of Love” is one of my personal favorites. It’s a classic mid tempo country tune complete with steel guitar. Something we just don’t hear enough anymore. Jolie also covers Regina Regina’s “Big Bad Broken Heart” with ease. It lacks the powerful harmonies of the duo’s version but is full of its own attitude.

“Somewhere, Someway, Somehow, Someday” is a real tongue twister and is a little grating at first but it grows on you. That’s about the only problem with the record. Some of the songs just aren’t up to par. They wear at you for a little while before you finally come around and realize you like them. With a couple more really catchy songs and Jolie’s voice she would really have something to turn heads with.

Jolie has what it takes to make it to the big leagues. Her voice is crystal clear and she knows how to use it well. A couple more albums and some better songs and she’ll a force to reckon with. “A Real Good Day” is a worthwhile purchase. Get used to the name Jolie Holliday. You’ll be hearing more from her.

The WOC Rating Scale

The album stands above the rest. This is a record that every country music fan needs to have in their collection.

This album is better than the average release. A strong record with some flaws that keep it from reaching that 5 star level.

This album is an average country release. Doesn't posses qualities that make it stand out among all the other albums out there.

A weak record that lacks solid songs or good vocal performances. Sample before you buy.

This record is a bargin-bin reject that just isn't worth the time or the money. Completely misses the mark.
